Sid Valley Ring Half and Third Marathon

Sid Valley Ring Results 2025

Back for a 6th year in 2026. The Sid Valley Ring Half Marathon follows the newly created Sid Valley Ring walking route. This was a joint venture between Sidmouth Town Council and the Sid Vale Association. A donation from your entry fee will go towards the maintenance of this trail. Further information about the trail can be found here:  Sid Valley Ring

With an “uphill start”, the route takes you through quiet country lanes and footpaths and climbs to a height of 236m, before dropping down into the pretty village of Sidbury. Another section of back lanes lead to the tiny hamlet of Harcombe, the “Valley of Hares”, just before a steep climb towards Dunscombe cliffs and the coast path. Stunning views along here across Lyme Bay, stretching as far as Portland and Berry Head. A short excursion inland takes you through the picturesque village of Salcombe Regis, a woodland section, and back to the coast path. The views on the final downhill section to Sidmouth are incredible!

**New for 2026 – The Sid Valley Ring Third Marathon. This will follow the River Sid upstream to Sidford, before joining the Half Marathon route near Harcombe (13.5km).**

What’s included?

  • Fully marked course (whole route will be marked with additional event markers)
  • A well stocked aid station on the Third Marathon and two on the Half
  • First aid cover
  • A special Sid Valley Ring solid oak coaster for all finishers
  • Mud and plenty of hills
  • Open to runners and walkers
